Be Aware from Brain Cancer

There are two main types of brain cancer. 
1. Primary brain Cancer - starts in the brain.
2. Metastatic Brain Cancer - starts somewhere else in the body and move to the body.
Brain tumors can be benign, with no cancer cells, or malignant, with cancer cells that grow quickly.
Brain tumors can cause many symptoms. Some of the most common are
  • Headaches, usually worse in the morning
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Changes in your ability to talk, hear or see
  • Problems with balance or walking
  • Problems with thinking or memory
  • Muscle jerking or twitching
  • Numbness or tingling in arms or legs
No one knows the exact causes of brain tumors. Doctors can seldom explain why one person develops a brain tumor and another does not.

Oral Re-hydration Salt - Patient Advices

  1. Dissolve all salt contain in one liter of freshly boiled and cold water.
  2. Not to act any think (sugar, salt, lime, etc.).
  3. Once prepared it can be use for 24 hours. Any remaining after 24 hours to be discarded, where it is kept in a fridge or not.
  4. Give as much as the patient takes or 15ml per each bowel loss.
  5. Continue breast feeding and other fluids.
  6. Stop if eye lids gets swollen (Due to over hydration).
  7. Take to Hospital immediately;


  •          Continue vomiting
  •          If the patient needs anti-microbial.

Patient advices for Antacid Users

1.Tablets should be chewed before swallowing.
2. The dose should take one hour after meals and last was at bed time. If pain occurs patient may increase the frequency.
3. Continue the treatment for six weeks after relieving the pain.
4. Do not stay in hungry and take your regular meals on time.
5. With out medical advice do not take other drugs with antacids because the absorbtion of dose getting reduced in the present of antacids.
                    E.g. Antibiotics
                          Iron Tablets.
6. Avoid smoking, alcohol, coffees and pain killers.

    Be aware from Obesity

    Obesity is typically results unhealthy diet (over-eating) and lack of enough exercise. World is growing very fast and technologies are increasing rapidly so people want to move there life in to new way. Because of this people find cheap, high calorie food (fast food), prepared foods that are include high level of fat, sugars, etc. also increasing the urbanization and changing the modes of traveling, these can raise the obesity. Most of the richer people suffering from obesity and in some times poor peoples also can suffer because they may got cheaper foods from food industry.
    Environmental, societal and life-style factors also can cause obesity. Some health problems can increase because of obesity.
    ·        Cardiovascular disease (mainly heart disease and stroke) — already the world’s number one cause of death, killing 17 million people each year.
    ·        Diabetes (type 2) — which has rapidly become a global epidemic.
    ·        Musculoskeletal disorders — especially osteoarthritis.
    ·        Some cancers (endometrial, breast, and colon).


    The World Health Organization (WHO) provides a number of facts on obesity, including that globally in 2005:
    ·         Approximately 1.6 billion adults (age 15+) were overweight
    ·         At least 400 million adults were obese
    ·         At least 20 million children under the age of 5 years are overweight globally in 2005.


    So be aware from Obesity. Measure your body weight every week. Do regular exercises as well. Eat most suitable foods for your body.  Walk few kilometers for a day.

    Tip for Mother to-be

    Women under going thyroid treatment should not discontinue in during pregnancy because in the first 10 weeks of the life of the foetus the baby is fully dependent on the mother for this thyroxine requirements.

    "In those first 10 weeks, the foetus is developing his brain and if the mother does not increase her thyroxine intake immediately, the baby could have permanent brain damage."

    How to Use Aerosol Inhaler (Asthma Patient)

    How to use an Aerosol Inhaler (MDI)

     
    1. Cough and sputum as much as possible

    2. Remove the protective cup

    3. Hold the aerosol cane between your thumb and fingers


    4. Shake the aerosol cane


    5. Tilt the head slidely backwards breath out deeply

    6. Close the lips lightly around the mouth piece.

    7. Press the banal at the same time inhale deeply keeping your tongue down

    8. Hold the breath at least for 10sec or as long as the patient can

    9. Remove the mouth piece from the mouth and breathe out slowly.

    10. Replace the protective cap and wash your throat with slidely warm water.

    11. If you have to use to inhaler keep at least 10minutes interval between two doses.




    • Have a propellant to make the drug as a gas (e.g. CFC)

    • Not suitable for children below 5 years.

    • They can be given rot haler or MDI with a spacer
